What is Bouldering?
Bouldering is a style of climbing done on walls up to 4–5 metres high, with thick padded mats below for safety—no ropes or harnesses required. It can be enjoyed outdoors on natural rock or indoors at facilities like Skywood Climbing.
Whether you're here for fitness, fun, or the challenge, bouldering is a dynamic, social and strength-building way to move your body and test your problem-solving skills.

Our Grading System
At Skywood, we use coloured tags to indicate both the difficulty level of each climb and the starting and finishing holds. You’ll see two tags marking the start—these show where to place both hands to begin your climb.
Our easiest climbs start at yellow, progressing up to black for the most challenging problems. Rather than strict levels, our grading works on a spectrum—each colour represents an overlapping band of difficulty with the levels before and after it.
We encourage you to try climbs across the range—exploration is part of the fun, and you might surprise yourself!
